Noah's Ark Story (4 year Old Style)

We told the story of Noah's ark today and each child was an animal partner with another.  We entered two by two into the Ark and waited a long time for the 40 days of rain.  Then we discovered God had kept us safe during the storm, just like Jesus saves us now.  Lots of fun and lots of animal noises!

Bring a photo of your child!

We need a 4 x 6 snapshot of each child this week.  We plan to do self-portraits and would like to look at our pictures to draw ourselves.  We want to know what color God made our eyes and our hair.  God tells us we are special!

Awesome First Week of School 2013 2014 School Year

Well, we not only survived our first week of classes, but we thrived.  Each class is settling in and learning the rules as well as meeting all the new friends.  I think we've called most of the children by their correct names, and I know we've soooooo enjoyed them.

Here are a few photos of our afternoon classes.  Sorry, I didn't get the morning classes pictures, just thought of it in the afternoon.  But, not to worry, I'll get some morning photos soon.

Keeping busy pretending in our housekeeping area.

Coming soon.....Fire Station Field Trip Pictures

As soon as I can get them loaded, we'll see what happened at the Fire Station.  The men and women of our own Hermiston Fire Department do an amazing field trip for our classes.  We learn about being safe, what to do if the fire department ever needs to come to our house and help us, and not to be afraid if the firemen come into our house.

We also love spraying the fire hose.  What an awesome experience the Hermiston Fire Department provides for our preschool.

Thanks to all of our parents who so willingly drive our children to and from our field trips and stay to help us do this wonderful activity!

February has come and almost gone, lets check out what we've been up to...

We discovered, while learning about Jonah and the Whale, that the longest whale on record could hold all of us and more.  God had an amazing plan for Jonah and He has an amazing plan for us too!
Grandpa Ed helped us make our very own crosses to take home.  This was the week we learned about Boy Jesus and how He was a carpenter with His father Joseph.
We've been creating amazing structures.  Sometimes there are 6 to 10 children working together to make the "Wood Factory".
Another day of the "Wood Factory" creation.
We also learned about Noah's Ark.  These children created their own Ark and added their own animals.
And what is Valentine's Day without beautiful pink play dough?
We practiced our cutting and put hearts in size order to make a Valentine message too!
And, many of us enjoyed learning about The Woman and the Well.  Pastor made this "real" well for us to understand what it was like to bring water from the ground instead of through pipes in our house.

Upcoming January Happenings......

January is a month of Old Testament Stories and fun....

Daniel in the Lion's Den - Jan 14...making lion snacks, making lion puppets, and sharing amazing facts about lions.

Jonah in the Whale - Jan. 21...painting whales in different ways and learning all about whales in the ocean.

Noah's Ark - Jan. 28...painting rainbows, making arks and talking about the colors of the rainbow.

I see every child growing and maturing is so many ways.  The names are being written a little clearer, the socialization is getting more complex, and the understanding of letters and numbers is growing each day.  What a blessing it is to teach your children.

After Christmas Programs were AWESOME!

Our after Christmas programs were totally awesome.  Each child knew their line and sang so beautifully.  Thanks for making sure your child was able to attend.  The sanctuary was filled each night which is over 100 people each night.  Thanks parents for encouraging your child to share the Good News this way.
